A new word — surthrival

from the Foggnarian Dictionary:

sur•thri•val (sue-THRIVE-al) noun

The state or fact of prospering and flourishing by rising above simply staying alive or existing, typically in spite of an accident, ordeal, or difficult circumstances. Surthrival of the fittest: Making a success of one's life by the deliberate and consistent focus on what's working and what's best in any and all situations.
