Session 114

The Dragon, the Eagle and the Global Future of NetworkingIf you haven't "run the numbers" on China lately, prepare yourself to be blown very far away. Every single month a brand new city the size of Philadelphia is established in the People's Republic. China graduates 4 times as many students overall as we do in the US, but they have 1,000,000 high-tech (engineering, math, science, computer science) grads to our 60,000! Within 15 years, the Chinese economy will be greater than the US., Europe and Japan combined. Where the Eagle (that's US) once ruled, now the Dragon (China), the Elephant (India) and the Camel (the Middle East) are on track— each in their own ways— to surpass America's global leadership. As to be expected, with all of this explosive expansion come some serious problems; environmental, cultural, structural and social problems are as common in China today as they are unwanted.
So, what does all this mean for network marketing in China?
China presents challenges to network marketing, because network marketing is a challenge for China. The Chinese are by nature an entrepreneurial people— in many ways they are more capitalistic than the capitalists (300 million Chinese have $60,000 or more in the bank and they still don't use credit cards). But the Chinese authorities are very leery of grass-roots "power to the people" movements, especially in terms of too many people with economic and personal alliances and loyalties not under the government's control. The Chinese are relationship-based and team players by nature, born network marketers, but their leaders do not trust mlm. This will change, but there's just too much freedom in the leading-edge of free enterprise for the government's comfort. For now, the People's Republic will have to wait a bit longer for the People's Franchise.

Dr Waitley You have exposed the problem America is facing. We must find a way to develop a grass roots environment within china that fosters a climate that is favorable to Network Marketing. This is perhaps something that could be stared through the internet. As Dr Waitely has stated the Chinese are basically an entrepreneurial people and I suggest something might be started in very small ways.
If we continue to lower the educational standards placed on our children we could wind up as cheap labor for the world. We need to peruse some course of action soon as we are loosing ground to many fronts. We are being out educated, out produced and at present our financial intuitions are in a shambles and may never recover. What is strong is the massive ground floor people business known as Network Marketing and it grows daily..
My company is aggressively expanding into world markets. Social markets are popular every where there is sufficient economic activity to support them. If we keep pushing in that direction a little bit at a time I think we can be successful. The Chinese people have been getting much of what they want and I think they would fall in love with Network Marketing and want it.
Thank you for opening a discussion.
