Dee (the Senior In Home Art Teacher) commented with thanks about "the article on branding"— Tom Peters' The Brand Called You posted for you at TransformingMLM.com/Resources.
A few years back I was a full time writer... and I knew the importance of branding oneself, or should I say the lack of it and what that can do in the industry.
Although I never have stopped and thought about the same principle w/ my own Networking business. (but! I am now stopping and rethinking my whole business over!)
Risking being labeled the pedant... good. You should. We all should. Your Network Marketing business is not XYZ company's business. It's yours... You, Inc. You ARE the brand. You are what people are buying... what they are joining.
Q: If your company were to go out of business, what would your people do? If you are the brand (of value, intelligence, authenticity...), they'll go with you.
As Mr. Peters' wrote:
No matter what you're doing today, there are four things you've got to measure yourself against.
First, you've got to be a great teammate and a supportive colleague.
Second, you've got to be an exceptional expert at something that has real value.
Third, you've got to be a broad-gauged visionary— a leader, a teacher, a farsighted "imagineer."
Fourth, you've got to be a businessperson— you've got to be obsessed with pragmatic outcomes.
It's this simple: You are a brand. You are in charge of your brand. There is no single path to success. And there is no one right way to create the brand called You. Except this: Start today. Or else.
